The Renaissance Theme Park in Bikal is the first theme park established in Hungary. The Theme Park recalls the everyday life during the Middle Ages within Hungary in a very special way: involving craftsmen, actors, battlewise horsemen, archers and experienced falconers. While travelling back in time children and adults of all ages and gender will find the most exciting activity or program according to their interest from dawn to dusk.

The Theme Park with its 7.5 hectares is divided into 5 larger parts: the Village, the Old Town, Main Square, Palace and Jousting Arena. The park’s 35 buildings host workshops, shops, catering units and other premises designed for trainings and group activities.

From the main entrance take the main road cutting through the village to explore the Theme Park. The village’s pottery, basket-weaver workshop, blacksmith forge, animal farm, mill and traditional countryside tavern (“csárda”) also part of the one-day interactive tour. In the Old Town 8 craftsmen and in the streets randomly appearing actors and animators present the atmosphere and everyday life of the medieval era. In the mornings and in the afternoons medieval performances await visitors at two venues – at the Bird Stage and the Jousting Arena.

Unique Renaissance Theme Park

All over the world theme parks are usually designed around a specific topic, such as a historical era, a fairytale or various games, by establishing an environment true to the given era or story within a large, enclosed area. Many think that theme parks are similar to amusement parks, which is a partially correct statement. But theme parks usually involve and offer much more to visitors than traditional amusement parks.

The Renaissance Theme Park is open all year round. It offers comprehensive family and interactive programs with comprehensive background services (food, feasts) for a whole day stay.
